Its actually abit of both quartz & jade also known as raw chrysoprase, a sought-after green gemstone. It is a green variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz. Its vibrant green color is due to nickel impurities in its structure. The stone has a waxy luster and a hardness of 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable for jewelry. Major deposits are found in Australia, Poland, Brazil, and the United States. The large, semi-translucent green stone he picks up and shows us is most likely raw green calcite, also known as "seafoam" or "pistachio" calcite, a large piece of raw prasiolite (green quartz) a low-grade jade variant.

This is a March birthstone. It’s quite beautiful. You can get different shades of the stone depending on how large or small the stone is cut.

To me it just looks like a frozen piece of an iceberg that survived and remained in freezing water. Or a piece of some crystal just put Sorry a piece of meteorite Is what Moldavite is. In its gem state which is one of rarity it is a dark green with peridot light But as a piece of meteorite it looks similar to the black lava that I call beach cow plops on the road near the volcano in Hawaii It does remind me of fluorite and New Hampshire has a lot of it This is the gem Moldavite in one of my pieces and the smaller green gems are another rarity, a green garnet called Tsavorite and are mined in Russia and Kenya with the tanzanite . I believe some found in Brazil. Russia, to make them more marketable, gave them an inaccurate second name , The Russian Emerald, and in no way looks like a real emerald unless you have one not included and crystal Clear at about $500,000. Emeralds by nature have veins running through them and are in the beryl family and Tsavorites are garnets
