Yes there is a dress code for court.Last year I had to go traffic court. Everyone including myself was dressed appropriately.She’s too old to not know any better

When I have gone to court I have had the thought that casual like shorts is not acceptable. I wear pants and a nice shirt. I wear sneakers only because I have to. I wear braces in my shoes and they don't fit in any other shoes.
How did she get a phone in the court building. Phones are not allowed. They makes you take it back to your car or hide it outside.

When I was on jury duty, we had to actually cut our phones off. We had to actually put our phones in our purse. We could not take pictures record conversations that was a violation of the courts in the duties that we were responsible for for making decisions on guilty or not guilty. However, as an adult as courtesy read the signs as you’re walking put your phones up that’s courtesy that’s respect. That’s just like someone coming into your home and they snapping pictures. These courts are stopping all of the BS that people have been constantly allowed to do. They trying to go back 30 years please let them allow.

The first time I went to court I had on shorts. I was around 18. I didn’t know you’re not supposed to wear shorts. The judge said don’t wear shorts in my court room again.

I never knew that until I was 42 and went through a divorce. There was a sign on the door of the court that said to not wear shorts or sleeveless shirts! Don’t know what she was talking about the box! Is for people in jail??? I can’t imagine why in the world the judge would put the lady in jail if she didn’t know?
I don’t care it the lady knew the dress code for court or not, but to put her in handcuffs for it, was wrong in my opinion. How many videos we have seen where men come on with their pants off their ass?

I'm sure that mother is simply focused on her son's court date,but honestly shorts are not dressing up,BUT some people can't afford church clothes,even for Court,especially when it's an unexpected thing that happens like your son getting arrested. AND I think it's extremely harsh to not only insult the shorts in front of court,and sends her to "the box"??? 😳
