You'd think that there's another safer way to connect/disconnect the voltage automatically without switching up manually with a hook on standby to pull you away if it explodes

that is by far the most sketchy shit I've ever seen in real life. that hook is just in case shit doesn't go right. they can pull that guy back. arc flash is some serious shit. the guys I watched do this at work changed the main power switch to our building. we run millions of volts for our thermal induction furnaces. our new switch is automatic i think you just push a button but i could be wrong. so maybe no need for this anymore idk though im just a furnace operator lol
