Never the whole story. The guy was sued (and settled) by several of the tenants because he would harass them, cut off utilities and not do repairs. They had to take him to court to get him to stop. Why did he do it? He wanted to demolish the building and build a tower. He lost and years later converted it to condos, with the rent controlled tenants still there.
Some people don’t know about the black elderly homeless woman that Trump took in off the streets. He put her up in Trump Towers for free he has fresh flowers delivered to her daily. I can’t remember the program I watched and yeah it was refreshing He said she will remain there until she passes
