I’ve been there getting beat until it finally came to the point where he put a shot gun to my head and told me if i leave him he would kill me. I had to move out of the state to get away from him or I wouldn’t be saying this right now!! it was a total nightmare. He said he would take me into the mountains and kill me, and no one would ever find my body. I just thank the Lord that I never had children with him.

Any man who abuses a woman is not a man, just a coward

Don’t mean to make this into a big thing, but women are not the only people who are physically abused and mentally abused in marriages. There’s so much shame involved when men are the victims that it isn’t talked about much. I just wonder if people who are abusers ever watch these programs and see themselves in them or do they think that they are somehow justified?

So sad that this happens everyday. Right before I got married, I told my fiance.. ."Never put your hands on me. If you do, you better sleep with one eye open, cause that's the day, you take your last breath!

So sad that some women have to live like this. I've never even thought of hitting my wife. That's just not something men do. Cowards and losers maybe but not men.

There are many issues with domestic abuse, it is not that easy to just leave when you have little options. There is help but sometimes it takes time to be able to escape the abuse. Never judge a person in this situation.

my"moms"ex husband was abusive and she hit him with a frying pan. divorce this stupid but later on 3 months later. went on to meet my dad and when she was six seven months pregnant with me. she had taken out some cans and a garbage bag to throw in the garbage and just throw it under the stairs to take it out in the morning and she did not know he was under the stairway pointing a gun in her belly. turns out he saw that she was pregnant and he did not shoot.

Now 30 years Laughter later we have been married, we have 5 kids all together and life has been absolutely wonderful. So thank him for getting involved and we all are so happy, best 30 years. I just made a couple comments to address the situation here and now I feel sick to my stomach. I’m 70 years old and this happened when I was in my early 20s and I still get this feeling in me that I wanna puke when I think about it.

My mother taught me one philosophy-- "You have two options: (1) go to jail or (2) go to he'll. Your first shot better not miss." I informed my husband that on the day of our wedding. We have been married for 41 years.

Once an abuses are always an abuser! They rarely if ever change their behavior. It generally starts with yelling and screaming, and then quickly escalates to beating. The only way to break it is for the woman to leave and go someplace where he can’t find her. She needs a restraining order, which is basically just a piece of paper but it’s needed anyway then seek a divorce. Under no circumstances, should she have contact with him again except an attorney.

That's probably why women aren't getting married. somehow "some" men after they get married they turn into a caveman and try controlling every aspect of her life. who needs? It.
