i would have called 911 to get them medical assistance while praying over them for healing. I lived in the projects with 4 children at times we would not have survived without the help of our neighbors and they never told us no. They helped me with food to feed my children when life got hard , so i have no hatred of any person in this world . I pray for hatred to end.

I am a recovering addict , and so easy for some to sit all holy and mighty and judge you. My friend, you need to be knocked down a few pegs. You need to walk in her shoes, it makes you very humble. God is the one that judges, not you or anyone else. You aren't a Christian, bc I don't know if you remember. but Jesus walked and dwelt among the ones that were down and out!!! noticed this is a Caucasian church with Caucasian folks in there and they see this person in need and something's wrong but guess what they don't care cuz he's/she's black. if I had a white person walked up in a black church like that black folks would have been falling off over each other to help one of theirs. and I've seen that done countless times, and black churches.
Again-why does everyone think that she is drunk or on drugs! Does everyone just assume without knowing for sure? But by the Grace of God, this could have been any of and maybe it was one of us some time ago, But God allowed you to change. Be careful God still love her. 50 years ago a homeless man came into the bank and the president of the bank got up and gave him his seat at his desk, I found out later he was a very wealthy man, but had lost his wife in major car accident and that sent off the deep end. We never know who the is or might be.

For that to be a Church those people should be praying with that woman, a real Christian would be. My Church would have prayed with her as soon as she walked in the doors, Our Pastor tells us to invite everyone to Church no matter who they are, it doesn't matter if they are homeless or not just invite them, he said if they are hungry we will even feed them. He said they need help just like anyone else and God loves them just the same.
my heart aches for people who are in this situation, being hooked on drugs is a terrible thing It's very hard to get away from, we need so much more help dealing with this.

As someone with just over 6 years clean from an intravenous heroin and meth addiction... to those in the comments that are being disparaging, shame on you. when I was in the throes of my addiction, homeless, hungry, living in my vehicle, cold and tired. I went to a church the reason? I felt like I needed to find God again. I was rapidly plummeting to the bottom. and I knew it I was flat spinning out of control. and I went to the one place that I thought I would be welcomed. instead I was told to wait out in the lobby area so the assistant pastor could come and speak with me. I didn't go in asking for anything, but I was very clearly not in my sunday's best.
What a good group of Christians, never mind helping the sick or poor in spirit or the hungry or homeless. Just know that this person needs to do it all on their own. I'm sure that it's not in the Bible. They only want people that's like them. Not when over there to help. This could be a test for God.
