By definition,"snitching" or "ratting" means directly implicating someone for a crime in exchange for personal leniency or release. This leads to the conviction of another party. He essentially conned the prosecution into an immunity deal for his testimony. After making the deal he gave a testimony that admitted to the initial con on prosecution rather than actually implicating Thug as previously discussed. It really isn't the same.
