Why are you posting your mother on the internet like this? If her mental state has deteriorated to the point where she ate charcoal without realizing it was bad, why put her on display? Help her, don’t make her a spectacle. She’s a human, not content.

I don’t think her daughter is posting what her mom did to make fun of her, she wants to make people aware of what can happen when a person has Alzheimer’s or dementia! Sad but at least she has someone to look after her! 🤔💕

This is so sad. Why, just why would you post this? You can see the confusion in the elderly ladies eyes. It seems like if she is that bad off mentally that someone would be watching her all the time.

So sad, my Mom would pick up random things and bite into them like potpourri or decorative candles. We had to put everything away, we “MOM PROOFED”the house when she lived with me. We started out with baby locks on some cupboards but she was very resourceful so we had to use real locks on some things that could be dangerous!

You can hear the concern in the daughter's tone! While this is very sad I choose to believe the daughter was not doing this to embarrass her at all

My mother also had it - we could not watch her 24/7 so she went to assisted living and then secure nursing home. If you can’t take care of them, then you should hire someone who can, or place in nursing or assisted living (depending on the stage). Don’t put her on internet.

Please don’t judge this kind speaking daughter. You haven’t walked in her shoes. It happened. She isn’t trying to shame her Mom , she is trying to give heads up , please keep your eyes on aging parents with dementia or Alzheimer’s at all times like if they were toddlers. Or put things in a safe place. Or get help. Things happen. I believe this post is to help educate others to prevent things like this from happening. God Bless the Daughter and Sweet little Momma. 🙏🏼🌸🙏🏼🌸🙏🏼🌸🙏🏼.

She’s exploiting her. She can discuss issues with elder care, her mom and so forth without using her mom as a poster person. Thumbs down 👎

I was living with a nurse for 3 years (I paid her to take care of me) and she had another pt living there who had Alzheimer’s and dementia. We were thrifting and found an ornate Italian olive oil bottle, and filled it with oil. The next morning it was empty, and we thought we lost our minds. On the morning of the 3rd day, poor gal had the runs so bad it never stopped for almost 4 days. Can’t stop oil I guess. Anyway we started to pay attention to her running commentary of her day (she loves the sound of her voice) and she was grumbling b/c Alcohol just isn’t as strong as it used to be. We also stocked up on Welch’s fizzy non-alcoholic fruit beverages when they were on sale. They looked like wine bottles. Yup! All empty in less than a week. My nurse threw out some spoiled food (yogurt - her 2nd fav, and some meat that turned before she could use it.) We still don’t know how she ate the beef with only a single tooth to her name, but we DO know that woman had a cast iron stomach

Her mother could not give permission to be made a spectacle on the internet. She has alzheimer's disease. She is causing her mother to become anxious by questioning her about her tongue causing her to worry about her tongue not being OK.This woman needs to put her in a memory care home.

The daughter is trying to educate you on how hard it is to take care of someone with dementia. Please pray for them both. I had to take care of my sister before she passed away. It was not easy. The daughter was loving and brought it to her mother's attention that she ate charcoal. People with dementia, you need to be honest with them. You need a great deal of patience with them. It is like teaching a toddler. you need to protect them from their own selves. They are not aware of what they are doing. I feel the daughter is crying out for help. Please pray for the mother and the daughter. God Bless

People tend to think all altizheimers parents simply forget things which most do but some like my mother 83 are impossible to take care of and I will not restrain her so I put her in assisted memory care. Altizheimers for some comes with a lot of psychosis. As a 68 year old son I do take her Ice cream and anything extra she needs each week and visit 3 hours. I have to make sure she has no scissors or she cuts up bedding and clothes. She used to sew and thinks she is cutting out patterns. She used 20 rolls of toilet paper a week because it comforts her to tear each block off for hours and flush or put in trash. My father had altizheimers and he was easy to care for as he watched television despite his memory being gone. People need to realize there are many kinds of dementias and no two are alike. Just because you kept Mom and Dad yourself doesn't mean others can. It's OK to need help as all cases are definitely not the same.

Some of you will never understand until you actually have to take care of a parent with dementia. Do you hear her laughing at her mom? Nope! Instead of thinking she's disrespecting her mother, think about how the poor daughter feels. She's most likely only posting this bc she needs support. When I took care of my mom that's sure how I felt.
