I have two adopted children who were born to an HIV+ birth mother. Neither has it due to medications that prevented the exposure. They’re happy and healthy there were 4 children born to the bio parent and none have it.
Law & Order SVU has an episode just like this. The mom knew she had it when she was pregnant with both children their youngest child died because of AIDS related pneumonia. The doctor was an AIDS denier and purposely told Mom the baby was fine just a cold. The baby got sicker and then died. The doctor also told the mom she couldn't pass it to her child. She died of AIDS as well. She also infected a fellow teacher she was dating. The last child turned out to be positive for HIV. Incredible what willful ignorance can do.

I was a baby born from a mother who had hiv aids. I was born with out it. I was one in a million the doctors say. im 32 now with 13 year old son and we are both still in the clear. it is possible as long as the right steps are taken.
