That’s why you’re supposed to check your load and make sure that everything is well fastened down! The driver is responsible for the load on the truck to make sure that it is 100% secure before he gets in the truck to start up and drive away!

I can't find any sympathy here. It's the drivers responsibility to secure the cargo. I always used redundant straps too in case one broke or slipped. I'd be thanking God that nobody got hurt...or worse.

No driver with any sense starts driving without securing their load and then checking to make sure it is secure. If the police pulled up here he would be ticketed for failure to secure his load.
Were is a cop when you need one. Pickups have to use straps just like a semi. But they don’t.
