It prevents hair from going down the drain, but allows water to freely flow down the drain. Hair collects around it and you just gather it up to throw away. The rubber band is to keep the cardboard from raveling apart when it gets wet. However, there is a gadget called a tubshroom that is plastic and works better. I wish people who make these videos would explain it verbally or with captions!!! Hope this helps! 👍🙂

A paper towel holder/center w/a rubber band is going to do nothing on TOP of the drain plug. Are you going to hold it AND wash your hair at the same time? This is pretty much ...UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE!! And even more so that anyone would believe it!

what the hell, I tried this and left just for a minute I come back and I couldn't open the door next thing I lean down and lick the outlet real good tons of spit and slobber and all of a sudden my wife poked me in the butt hole, she's about 2 knuckles in so I hit the outlet one more time then I had a thought....
