I went to church twice and it scared the hell out of me. I never went back. I grew up in a house where the subject of a god the way it was presented wasn't discussed. My mother didn't allow us to salute the flag. I felt so awkward in those moment in school. Now, as a woman, I realize how incredibly courageous my mother was. When I heard a preacher I think he's a pimp. I understand what an American flag represents and I will never salute it or allow my children to. My mom had 11 children, I will never be the woman she was, but I try everyday.
