It’s not fake he was a survivor of Hurricane Helene & his wife & daughters were buried below him clawing at his hand & legs for a while & obviously he couldn’t do anything being in dirt & sand up to his neck & when he was found he asked to just die because he couldn’t save them & said they stopped making any movement a day ago. My heart is absolutely heavy for this man. I pray he’s still alive & didn’t do anything drastic after they rescued him. 🙏🏼💕

This was not during hurricane helene.This was the 1999 Vargas mudslides in Venezuela and yes it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. I can't imagine living with survivors guilt the rest of my life. I pray this man found the strength to go on😞💔😫🙏🏽

This is the Vargos mudslides in Venezuela in the Vargos district -1999. The area received a lot of rain, and several mudslides hit the area, killing 20-30k. The mans name is Carlos Vargos. He said that his daughter, age 4, had stopped moving about a day earlier from rescue. He basically was spared because he was just tall enough as you see in the video. Just brutal, and i hope he was able to smile again.

Dear God, Forgive me for not remembering this particular man and his losses. Being there was hard enough, and I'm 52 years old and have NEVER seen that much tragedy, pain, and suffering that WNC people felt the first week when I was at home, safe! Not one day nor night has gone by without thinking about Black Mountain and the people who had nothing! I pray for all of WNC and E Tn. from Helene's wrath. May God have restored their hearts, and may they all have shelter now. it is so hard to believe that it has been almost a year old. 🥺🙏🏼❤️🩹🙌🏼‼️
