u do know people use that method of rock stacking to mark direction or keep track so they don't lose their way and find their way back at least that's what we did when we were growing up and that's what my grandparents thought me

He’s so proud he set up a camera so he could destroy a trail marker. That’s what those piles of stones are the purpose is they mark a trail and anytime when you’re hiking and you have trouble seeing that trail and your spot one of these rock sculptures it’s such a relief

I have been hiking many times where I was having trouble. Seeing the trail ahead of me and those rock sculptures called carrens showed me the way. There were times that if I had lost the trail and lost my way, I could’ve been in trouble and those rock sculptures saved me. They are for a reason they are not decorative. They show hikers the trail ahead.
Part of the fun of hiking and fishing in remote areas is kicking over rock piles, not to mention I like the illusion of being in the wild where people leave nature as they found it.
