I am a certified welder, I have built and repaired countless trailers, never seen or contemplated replacing the boards like that ! I I remove the retaining strap, it takes five minutes then replace all the boards, reinstall the strap

I’ve been a carpenter for 30 years. I put new wood on trailers before but never ever did it with the wheel. That is the stupidest way to do anything.

that's why I use a jack instead...

Easiest way is to cut out a section, of the trailer, the width of 1 board at the bottom of the end of the trailer...take all the screws out..one by one slide the boards out...and one by one slide the boards back..weld the piece that was cut out, back in

A dam board doesn’t need to be bent that much and if you think that’s dangerous I must eat danger for breakfast, and I’m starving.

All you have to do is take off the brace or plate that will be holding the boards in place.

You should always use tongue & groove 2 x 6 on a trailer deck or flatbed, unless you don't care about it or use it very lightly, always on flat pavement.

avator

zip cut the angle iron off, place wood, weld on weldable hinges, place back angle, weld only the corners, now next time you replace wood you only need to zip cut the corner ends and it opens like a door,. ,,,,....................now time to crack open some beers, sit down on back of trailer and DONE.
