HOT

I worked on an offshore oil platform in Alaska for 12 yearsโ€ฆI was the first woman to work offshore in Alaska back in the 70s and 80s, but we never had waves like this. This is mind blowing!!!โ€ฆ we sure had a lot of whales in the inlet. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I wonder how many women work out there. They're equal aren't they. No, they're nothing close to equal.

The beach current, waves, undertow can be fierce. I Almost drowned and a man close to me did. Never went back in the ocean again. The people who work out there on these vessels in these conditions Deserve to be very well paid.

Donโ€™t underestimate the North Atlantic. It actually can get worse than this. I was out there on a Navy vessel with a flat bottom. Real character builder. GO NAVY!

Just looking at that fills me with terror. Thatโ€™s water miles deep, cold, wild and the ginormous creatures who would tear you up and make you dinner. But donโ€™t worry about them. The water will probably drown you first. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿšข๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฆ‘๐Ÿฆ‘๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿฆˆโ˜ ๏ธโ˜ ๏ธ

This looks very dangerous for the men who maintain this oil rig. Hope they are paid for the courage they show daily to maintain this rig. God bless you all.

Anyone know about this? Any explanation as to why itโ€™s there? What it does? How it can withstand the constant waves and current? Anyone ??

My next question is who took those photos? It looks like theyโ€™re standing somewhere with a railing in front of them and I would think itโ€™s not a ship but what else could it be? Iโ€™ve seen a lot of photos of some rough weather from people who were sellers and it just seems a little stronger than anything Iโ€™ve seen

That's why they get the big bucks. I knew a man who welded on the big oil rigs in the Gulf Coast. He did not want to talk about welding deep under water wearing scuba gear. It sounds very stressful.

There's nothing that anyone can build out there that can withstand nature, nothing! The ones who work on those are brave and probably have some pretty good insurance coverage! ๐Ÿ˜†

OMGOSH THIS IS terrifying!! The oil rig is actually moving or is the ocean making it look like it is? I would rather live paycheck to paycheck before having my husband on this thing and yes my husband is familiar with getting his hands dirty. He worked for a Westvaco Paper Mill for over 40 years. To dangerous!! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ for all that do.
