That's how it was where I was at for the past 4 1/2 years, Hardmen county in TN.
In Texas prisons, buildings like these dorms won’t have an officer station in the dorm. We had a central control in the building that controls lights, intercom and doors open only by picket officer. We had up to 4 officers, one for each dorm and the picket boss. These dorms are for offenders with lower custody levels. Normally no fights or anything bad happens due to it being so chilled, no one wants to lose that dorm life.
