flight attendant here, all they're saying is that if (for some unspecified reason) they cannot take off in the next 22 mins they will "time out" and wont be able to fly that plane (Pilots, just like truck drivers, can only drive/fly for a certain amount of hours a dat and they were reaching their time limit). if that happened the airline would have to call another Pilot and First Officer and could take up to 2 hours for them to arrive (that's how long they give us to be on the gate). and the flight would have gotten delayed.. also there's way worse news to hear than that..

they are sitting on the tarmac in heavy fog. unable to take off. if they can't take off in 22 minutes, the pilot will have reached his maximum hours for the week. they will have to find another pilot. that will delay the flight..
We landed and couldn't get a dock to deplane so we taxid around over 30 minutes on the ground....I had to go to the bathroom or have a pee accident. Stewardess turned me into the pilot for leaving my seat. I wasn't the only one who had to either. Sheesh I asked too pleading/explaining I had bladder surgery....
Ugh this happened to us last week! they boarded us and got us off the plane twice. They delayed us 5 hours until they canceled us at 3am.

I was taking an allegiant flight in sioux falls sd to Vegas. it kept getting delayed for mechanical issues. 8 hours. they brought in tons of pizza and cases and cases of coke and diet coke. I think we got $70 comp. the scary thing was the pilots who waited with us the first 4 hours were the ones who went off to sleep somewhere for 4 hours then came back to fly again. on 4 hrs sleep. 💕

What’s with the jargon? “Time out”? Why not say “we will miss our window to take off.” One time the police came through our neighborhood and said on a loud PA system “redline your things” which made me a native English speaker have to run down the road at 4 AM to catch up to them to ask what “redline” meant. They said that the fire it meant to be ready to evacuate from the approaching fire. Why not say “be ready to evacuate. Go to (this area).”? How on earth with all these non-English-speaking “immigrants” do we not have people better trained to communicate effectively?

If that plane that I was sitting on had mechanical problems for eight hours, my ass would've been off that plane in 15 minutes. I cannot believe you waited eight hours on a plane and you rode that plane from that airport. I would not have trusted that plane for anythingthat's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm gone. proud parent here, all they're really saying is that the pilot refuse to finish the last two bites of Brussel sprouts on his dinner plate and the co-pilot is making him sit in the corner in time out until he finishes his dinner like a big boy.

Stupid video. Crew can’t fly due to time limitations of the flight. It happens with delays. Just need a new crew or the flight doesn’t leave for another day.
I was on a plane waiting for takeoff for a few hours and they timed out and had to wait for a whole new crew including flight attendants. They all got off. People went crazy and took all the liquor.

I thought it meant they were 22 minutes from landing but were going to time out (engines fuel out) in 10 min! and the pilot was explaining, "If that happens....we hope to coast to a safe landing." 🙏

on our flight to Orlando in 97 or 98 my flight attendant was the bomb. she took my diaper bag and filled it with mini margaritas on the house. I musta been stressed out with hubby and 3 kids, one a puker, and one a almost 2 year old.
Being on a plane with all of those people and crabby flight attendants is bad enough just for a regular flight. I'd hate to be stuck in a holding pattern of any type. That would make things 100 times worse.
