he woke up alert af that is NOT drugs but just simple lack of sleep. all of you saying "drugs" clearly dont know sh*t about most drugs. if he was slumped from fetty or dope (heroin), then his response time would be horrible, and he would have this UNSHAKABLE exhausted look like he is not fully awake. That man needs a bed and a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I can't believe anyone is defending this worker. He is being fired or sent home for the day because he is falling asleep while operating heavy machinery. In what world would any intelligent supervisor let a safety violation like that continue.

what's wrong with sleeping on the job I slept on my lunch break often my time was full of energy when I woke up you don't have to fill your body with a bunch of fast food or food that will make you feel drowsy.

Where I once worked at we watched out for each other. Either they slept at the machines, restrooms ( which was a better choice) or in their cars. But when we heard the boss was looking for them we already sent heads up. Nobody wants to lose their jobs. But working 12 hrs shifts 6 days a week and then have to squeeze in some personal time with family it’s very hard. There will be days you don’t know if you’re coming or going.

As a driver, what he did wrong was being behind the wheel of a running motor vehicle. It’s a very unsafe practice.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a lack of sleep or drugs either way you’re done you need to go lay down 🤔👍🏼

it's better to sleep in the car then inside while working if I was the supervisor I wouldn't fire him i would just tell him to go home and I would see him tomorrow get some rest

some people never been worked to exhaustion and it shows. this man looks like he works long hours or maybe more than one job. that quick response to the Knock doesn't seem like drugs or anything. sleep deprivation is a thing

hello!!! I noticed people are working long hours. It is only required to work 8 hrs a day. But certain companies are working people 9hr or more shift, with a 4 day work week. So . If you work 10 hrs for 4 days that totals out to 40 hrs, vs 8 hrs 5 day work week schedule totaling out 40 hrs. It never amazes me how companies figure how to get around laws and rules.

Several years ago I began getting so sleepy just at a moments notice. I got so bad I would get sleepy driving just 10 miles I would have to pull off the road to sleep about 10 minutes. I would wake refreshed. But then all the sudden five or more miles down the road I would need to pull over again and sleep. It wasn’t just while driving. At work I would periodically do the same. I went to see a my doctor. He did a few test on me. He came back with a diagnosis. The doctor said I had narcolepsy. He prescribed me Adderall. I did very well on a low dosage. However, little did I know at that time I was also having additional symptoms I didn’t pick up on. I was also falling a lot. I’d fall down stairs, trip over my feet and would slightly slur my words. In 2012 I was officially diagnosed with Rapid Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. My neurologist told me I had it for a few years according to my brain damage.I ask him if the problems I had before could have been caused by RRMS. He said YES. 🥰

Even though nobody here knows the whole story the fact is that he's sleeping at work. If he's that tired he shouldn't be driving a company vehicle, if he's on drugs he shouldn't be fucking with high amperage electricity or driving. However if he's on his lunch then it's his choice what to do with his break. But I have guys at my work that can't drive and have the nerve to sleep on the way to jobs and it pisses me off. If their partner for the day says they were sleeping I ask for how long and have their pay docked. If they have a problem with it then it's immediate termination.

instead of firing him and waking him up the way he did he should've checked on the man and figured out what's wrong or if he getting overworked. I'm a supervisor for the D.O.T in NC and I've had several of my guys get like this after working long hours I just send them home to get some much needed rest

I was a roofer at the time and had been up working an 11 hour day. I stayed upwith my gf (who was pregnant at the time) all night and I fell asleep eating a sandwich in the truck around lunchtime. Boss woke me up 3 hours later asking me if I had a good nap. Told me I wasn't getting paid for em but kept me in my job. Later that night she had a miscarriage. No drugs involved. Why does everyone just jump to drugs? Some people literally have total system failures for pushing themselves to the absolute limit.

my son in law has lupus. he WAS a survivor for years as lupus has progressed his sleep and energy has dropped. the company he worked for for years sent him on a small assignment by himself. an hour away from home. it was lunchtime he ate he said he laid his head back and must have fallen asleep. 3 hrs later woke up in a panic. that afternoon, they fired him. he told the company he was so so sorry. they fired him. HE WAS NOT ON DRUGS except what he was taking for lupus. They lost a really good man that day. my daughter was a nurse at that time, so they made a decision to let him stay home and keep the newborn. it has worked out beautifully. that was 7 years ago. he is a great daddy and husband. the company didn't shut his door that day GOD BLESS HIM. God shut that door.💕
