I'm not sure what that guy's talking about is not hard to cut a shingle, and it's really nothing special they start from the bottom work their way up over that under overlap over then cut off like it's a edge and of course make sure the water runs over the laps not under them they could have did that without cutting all those shapes out they're just for effects
