im no expert, but im pretty sure that "freeze ray" is a pressurized gas and that gas freezes the fluid in the pipes

I worked for a mechanical contractor in the 80's that purchased something like this. If I remember correctly it worked pretty good. They also had a drill that was attached to the copper pipe with brackets and bored a hole into the pipe then part of the bit expanded while still inside of the main pipe and proceeded to pull itself back out with the bit expanded and it left a perfect ridge to insert another pipe into. Then solder the two pipes together forming the tee. This eliminated 2 solder joints per tee. I don't know if this is still in practice today or not,but it was pretty cool.

It's great for pressure fitting, not sweating of course.

Couldn’t have a lot of pressure because if it did, it would push that ice blockage right out of there

why not just turn the water off?

and on top of that before anyone says what about the water left in the lines. turn on all sinks, showers etc and flush the toilets it'll drain the system out after everything is turned off

ream the inside of the pipe at the cut.

This is most likely so he doesn't have to drain to system. He just turns the water off so there is no higher pressure.

easier to shut the water off from the main or from the valve; and apply a shark bite fitting lmfao

He’s lucky that the “T” slipped into place with the expansion that happened from water freezing.

I use bread stuffed into the pipe so you don't have water droplets cooling the solder, work quickly. The bread will disintegrate when the water is turned back on.

we're not going to sit here and act like that it's not silicone and you didn't just use CO2 to get that pipe cold but not cold enough to freeze anything on the inside
