People on the east coast have no idea how big trees can really get. What an ecosystem we live in. From the living soil to the living forest and everything in between 👍🤔.

DEAD giant redwood.. needed to be cut down so wouldn't fall into the road possibly killing people as well as taking out the power line on the other side of the road

I’m just curious why did they have to cut down the tree is because it might end up blocking the road might fall down and not unexpected. I’m just curious I don’t know anything about trees so is that why they cut down the trees like that?

The removal of dead trees and shrub helps to lessen the severity of fires.

can the wood be cut up in usable lumber, or is it rotten?

It is apparent that they went up cutting off the limbs, dead or living, off the tree before bringing it down. I'm not sure but I think it is against the law to cutting down a tree such as that, so it must be dead

This makes it seem like we are so benevolent and only cut down dead or diseased trees. That just isn’t true. Trees are big money for some and to hell with the planet!

notice the beds they made and spaced out along the road. keeps the tree from shattering. the park will have it milled and they make all the bridges and benches and signs and such with the wood

Many of those giants are 2000 years old and there are a few like the general Sherman and the Muir that are 3000 years old.

That tree would take out an entire town. Compared to the Itty bitty trees over here in NJ, that tree is about the size of my town, actually it might be bigger then the state of NJ as a whole lol
