how in the fk could you talk someone (apprentice)or anybody into blocking that the way the bucket is? And does anyone have video of this!

used them to clean natural gas lines. We used to angle the pipe up to see how far it would go.

Saw firsthand pigging in the oil field and it can be extremely dangerous if not done safely.

my question is how do they get the barrel down the pipe? or where do they put it in if its clogged. 🤔

How much air pressure is needed to do that? Just curious.

Blowing the pig or running the pig, you do this after you get the pipe in the ground to clear debris and buildup out of the pipe.

I've done it for Hydrochem years ago to clean out chlorine sniffer lines for Dupont. We used vacuum and recovered wet hydrochloric acid waste. instead of air pressure 👍

We always had a thick plate that got placed at the end. Idk that much about it I started at 18 as a laborer carrying skids, then I was a jeeper, then became a welders apprentice. Iroquois Pipeline from the Bronx to Waddington.

I’ve seen this procedure done before. Up close and personal. It’s very violent. This is mild compared to the one I saw.

Worked with fold form pipe replacement with out digging up Main Street. One thing I don’t miss is setting up the bypass for the sewerage.

This would have never happened on a pipeline job here. You have to fabricate a pig catcher to prevent accidents.

So are these just ordinary 55 gallon drums or are they special built , are they reinforced in side some how or what ? You’d think they would get all banged up slamming in to that bucket like that all the time
