No joke about 30 years ago, a guy walked into a nightclub to Rob it and didn鈥檛 realize it was a police convention going on inside no joke. This was in Raleigh, North Carolina about 1985 or thereabouts.
I was in a bank that had been robbed many times by same kid. so when ever he showed they saw him coming run to the door lock it wrap a chain between the two. I was there for that on an laughed my behind off teller came flying around corner closed the doors he saw across lot started running lol she locked them wrapped chain went back to work he got there started beating on the door I guess they had pressed alarm coz cop showed got out his car kid runs cop grabbed him took him away everybody applauded lol I won't forget that soon

Regardless if it's fake or a skit it does happen more than you think. I read stories all the time where a bank robber gives a note demanding money from a teller on the back of one of their deposit slips, or leave their driver's license behind, drop their wallet with ID, or cash their paycheck before robbing the place. Do they do it because they are tired of supporting themselves or are they that stupid.
