Yes it's crazy and lunatic for the driver and the commentator. Looks like the brake works and he just wanted to drift. Because if you see at the end you see he breaks. Before that there was no brake light. There's no way he can stop on time if the break is out with that speed. That guy needs to stop lying.

Even if brakes don't work, you're gonna keep your foot on the brake pedal. However, the brake lights don't come on until just before the intersection. Kinda looks intentional to me.
