It's all by Democrat design: the dumbing down of America. The Democrats know full well that an ignorant, illiterate populace is far more easier to control and influence than an intelligent, educated, critical thinking electorate.
Minnesota public schooling, they'll feed you breakfast, lunch and during the summer but they are not teaching reading at grade level. Go figure.
the kids have to learn English before they can learn to read. now they want parents to teach at home. problem is English isn't spoken at home🤔
Most of the failing kids live in inner city Democrat strongholds. They'll probably vote Democrat for welfare benefits too when they grow up.
There are many reasons why kids are behind in reading; some factors include the pandemic, mental health, poverty, family issues, lack of resources, etc. Quit complaining and volunteer in some way so you can see for yourself.

Get better teachers that actually want to educate children on the fundamentals ( math,English, history etc etc etc) instead of indoctrination confusion about gender and racism. The era of the mentally unstable having reign over the education system needs to end,NOW.

This is what you get when the leftists are in charge, making the unions rich. They always talk about the teachers not getting paid enough, I know quite a few teachers and they seem to be doing very well for working 8 months out of the year.
well...DEI programming takes a lot of class time. no time for teaching basics.

The kids are too disruptive in class, teachers have no control. Education department is always asking for more and more money. It doesn't seem money is the answer.
