God Bless her. I’m sure she has canned many a jar too. I double a large towel to put the jars on when I remove them. Those are tomatoes & they are canned in an open pot of boiling water. That jar was extremely hot when she moved it. FYI, don’t ever place the jars on a metal sheet. With A/C going, that metal sheet was probably cold & the temperature change was drastic. I hope she wasn’t injured too badly. I’m imagining a burned arm plus the injury of her fall. Not good. 💔

it's a temperature thing. That Mason jar is very hot. The receiving pan should have had a towel in the bottom. It did not, that pan is cold. The glass exploded. Grandma may have burns from the jars contents, glass cuts from flying broken jar . Poor girl
Omg poor granny, she probably has 3rd degree burns and she will be picking glass shards out of her body and arm for some time to come. Not to mention the damage she did falling backwards. Those quart jars are made of thick glass, never pull them out hot and place them on a cold pan. Nothing funny about it, perhaps if it were your loved one you wouldn't find it funny.
