Please also take into consideration when you are driving around horse and livestock trailers as well. Those animals are standing in those trailers and are forced to balance, while going 60-70 mph. Please don't cut them off. If you do, it puts those animals lives at risk, some of them are mares, with their newborn foals sleeping between their legs. They don't have airbags back in the trailer to protect the animals. Please don't cut them off and give them lots of space when you follow them. It's only for the safety of everyone on the road. ๐๐๐ I pray that everyone that is on the roads gets where they are going safely.
I'm so thankful I was raised near the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I learned respect at a very early age. I can remember leaving at 3 am to drive to Maryland. It was In the Winter and fog everywhere. I would find me a BR (big rig), flash my hi beams and ride that BR to its exit. Those flashers would hit and I knew the ride was over until I could find another. I would do this until my exit or the fog had cleared. LOVE MY TRUCKERS ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ
Hey folks, keep this in mind: A tractor trailer when hauling a load can weigh in excess of EIGHTY THOUSAND POUNDS. It CANNOT stop in the short distance a car can and will destroy your vehicle if you do stupid things. Give them the space they need and the respect they need to be afforded. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
I grew up in trucker family and I was taught to give truckers the right away, they will help you out when they see you having issues on the road, by them or will CALL ON CB TO GET HELP!! PLEASE BE KIND AND GIVE THEM RESPECT ๐๐ฝ ๐๐
Iโve had numerous truckers flash theirs lights after Iโve passed them letting me know Iโm good to get back in the right lane in front of them. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
I saw four seniors on senior skip day get killed in front of my eyes. I attract the trailer when I was 11 years old I had to go to court. Iโll never forget to look on their faces, and I even spoke to one before he died
I drive a Dodge truck and pull a horse trailer and I canโt tell you how many assholes pull in front of me with their car , and then hit their brakes thinking I can stop in one second while Iโm carrying 3500 pounds with the horse and the trailer and I donโt want the horse to go through the grill ๐ตโ๐ซ๐ตโ๐ซ๐ตโ๐ซ๐ฉ
I try to let trucker know itโs safe to pass me plus give them lots of room when I pass. People that are behind me going faster than the speed limits, I give them my hazard lights for them to back off . If not for Truck Drivers we all wouldnโt be haven groceries, our jobs, they are the ones who keep us going in this world. Thank ya Truck Drivers.
I've been driving since 1982,.. trust me, I don't mess with the BIG RIGS.
As the wife of a trucker and daughter and granddaughter all my life I have heard stories of people cutting in front not caring if they could stop. My husband drove 50 years local but he came home daily about stupid drivers cutting over in front of him getting off an exit or jumping in front on the interstate and almost stopping like wanting to be hit. Think how you drive around a big truck they have families too!!!
people don't seem to understand stand. Don't get in front of the BIG TRUCKS,they can't stop on a dime. Do you see how slow they are to start moving? They are just as slow at reducing their choice, they have a lot of weight on those trucks. Also, remember that it's those drivers that bring the things you need to the stores for you, clothes, household items, wood, hardware medical supplies, everything you have a need for. Have some respect they have families too. Drive safely, and don't text and drive. That's a distraction and can cost lives.๐๐
respect semis you have no idea how much they do for us
Seeing someone jump from an overpass onto a flowing lane of traffic because there hadnโt been enough time to shut it down you cannot unsee. They landed directly in the path of an 18wheeler. Let me tell you of your can imagine how bad that could have been multiply by 10x and walk with memory. To see that happen from literal begining to and was just overwhelming in itself but had to still finish the job. ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ถ ๐
There should be a law when cars jump in front of big 18 wheelers that should be illegal always was taught when I cross over into a lane when itโs a big 18 wheeler go up to like two car space put the peace sign in a rearview mirror to see the front of the grill of the 18 wheeler and then crossover
THIS is the stuff MY nightmares are made of... my love is a truck driver (with 45+years driving experience) and the number of times I hear him cussing in frustration or from fear because of impatient, careless drivers in regular vehicles is insane. I never worry about his driving, I have utter confidence in his ability to handle his rig and trailer ... I'm terrified of the other idiot drivers on the roads with him that put his life, his sanity (what it would do to him mentally and emotionally if he ended up killing someone else through no fault of his own), their own lives and those of their passengers, AND the lives of other innocent people on the roads who might get caught up in the wreck! Be smart, be patient, and be sure to give safe distance all around 18-wheelers. They CAN'T stop fast enough. More wrecks involving 18-wheelers are caused by OTHER DRIVERS on the roads with them being too impatient or reckless around them, and yet the truck drivers are almost always blamed ๐คฌ
Yes, please do not cut off semi's, or travel beside them, most of the drivers are trained not to hit you but it depends on the situation. Give the semi the room of at least two car lengths to apply breaks, also at night if they have passed you and they have plenty of room to come back in front of you flash your lights twice, they will thank you by flashing the brake lights. Always get in the LEFT lane if there is a car or truck, TOW TRUCK OR EMERGENCY VEHICALS or POLICE on the side of the road, it is called a "Hazard" and you can cause more problems if you dont. ๐๐๐๐๐ To the family our thoughts and prayers are with you.๐๐
That poor semi driver that has to live with this even though it was not his fault. Prayers for both families
I feel bad for family who lost loved one But I also feel Horrible for driver of Semi he did nothing Wrong he was just trying to do his Job and get merchandise to its delivery Please Driver Donโt Blame Yourself
Whatever may be the story behind the videoโฆ the guy is not wrong what he posted! I used to ride on the road with my husband who was a OTR Truck Driver. Thereโs not enough respect for drivers in Big Rigs from back in the day and even until nowadays, unfortunately.๐ค
When you pull in front of ANYONE, accelerate and get out of their way.
I knew a lady who ended her life this way. Stopped on the side of a freeway and stepped out in front of a car. Her husband had died from a heart attack, and then two months later her 12yo son died after getting lost on a snow trip with youth. After all night they did get a faint pulse, but she was on the helicopter with him as they tried to save his life. She never recovered from that. So sad.
If you can't see their mirrors you're too close. If you cut them off giving them nowhere to go, you loose. Being in a hurry and acting stupid when driving hardly ever ends well. Now this truck driver has to live with this horror the rest if his life.
I was in an accident with a van, they were parked in the right hand lane, no lights, nothing. marked their fault, but i am thankful for all of the truckers whom sripped and told police they didnt see the van either.
people act like they don't understand I have a CDL I've drove a semi for over 12 years AND THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME PEOPLE JUMP IN FRONT OF YOU AND THEN WANT TO GO SLOW ON TOP OF IT
R.I.P. and for those of us viewing, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AND LEARN. BIG TRUCKS CAN NOT STOP FAST
A friend of mine, his father who had Alzheimerโs snuck away from his care facility, wandered for miles late at night, started walking down I-5 Washington state at 3am was struck and ran over by state patrols estimates 14 to 20 trucks, only way they could tell it was a human ,they found a couple fingers,3 different truck drivers were treated for shock at what they saw,my brother was on scene as a fireman who responded, they used snow shovels to pick the remains up,bothered my brother for years๐
prayers I always make sure if I need get over safely ,that I see very top of cab in my rear view mirror , if semi needs in front of me I slow down and flash head lights so they know their good to come over , many truckers in my family ,bless them and keep them safe ๐๐
My Dad drove 18 wheelers for a living he said the worst thing is when they are loaded down and cars pull out in front of them they canโt stop like a car
God Bless all the Truckers out on the road. Keep them all Safe ๐๐๐๐๐๐
People lose their lives every day because they donโt think about trucks that canโt stop. Theyโre doing nothing but gambling when they get in front of a truck and try to go around them or trying to go in front of them todayโs world was terrible people donโt think about what theyโre doing when youโre drivingand being reckless doesnโt help the matter. Prayers to this family and friends. Itโs a tragic.๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
God Bless ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
people are d*cks !!! as a driver not tractor trailer but travel for multi states .. give these trucks respect let them merge give them space .. we need truckers in America let them have road ways to keep America going. everyone gets home safe with respect of roads and other drivers๐๐๐
unfortunately there's too many people out there thinks nothings gonna happen to them.
I drove an 18 wheeler before I retired. I couldn't begin to count the card who'd cut right in front of me and then slam on the brakes. a few times I thought for sure I'd hit them. God was helping because I managed to miss them.
I have said for years there should be a complete section on big trucks & must be passed before they get a license. A lot of lives could be saved.
Reminds me of a dash cam video a truck driver showed me at a restaurant one time, the lady passed him and pulled in front of him and slammed on the brakes, later they found out she commited suicide.
the crap you see drivers pull at high speeds and just being stupid amazes me. I've seen more than a few terrible wrecks most of which were avoidable. Dont mess with big rigs you will not win.
There should be a law trucks thatโs size should only be able to go 80 mph. Those truck drivers be driving like there in cars with all that weight to make a dead line.
Some of the best people I know. And remember they can't stop on a dime ๐ฅฐ
they don't understand a working headline so don't expect smarts . love ya brother be safe .
I have no idea why they stopped the commercial when they use to inform people how long it actually takes for a fully loaded truck ๐ to stop if you don't for the non truck drivers look it up you will be surprised so when you think about jumping in front of them or coming up on there blind side or jumping in front of them just remember this it's your life and I'm pretty sure you're family will love to see you make it home every day that you're higher power gives you.

so sad for all involved!
respect semi drivers and give them the space they need. stay safe.
what do you say at this time but God rest the person they hurt ๐ may God be with them.
I respect my truckers and signal my intent and will only move over when they flash me.
my Son is a truck driver I worry so much about him people don't realize they can't stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change. think that's someone Son, or daughter, husband or wife in then trucks I want my Son home safe.......
Accidents like this is why many insurance companies require trucks to have cameras and not just on the dash. Many trucks have cameras with side views that will show in court how cars create accidents. So, if youโre thinking of jumping in front of a truck for a payday you might want to go get a job and live longer. Cameras donโt lie
I get tired of the attorneys that advertise on television and billboards telling everyone that trucks are the fault of accidents. Yes, there are some bad apples everywhere such as the case of some states allowing foreign drivers to obtain licenses without proper training. But for the most part I know that automobiles are the root cause of accidents because commons sense and common courtesy is not used. Truck accident litigation has become a multi billion dollar industry that is wrong on many levels
So many ignorant people jump in front of trucks then slow down purposely not realizing the danger they put themselves and the truck driver in trucks cannot brake and slow down as fast as cars then i see a lot of dumb ass truck drivers doing 80 in heavy traffic up in a car ass racing cars in heavy wind everyone needs to learn to drive defensively instead of competitively
This is Virginia!
My grandfather was a traveling salesman for PPG in the 70โs&80โs. He explained to me the unspoken rule of the road not taught in driving schools. If the vehicle is bigger than you it has the right away.
So true
my daddy was a trucker for many years.its scary to think of things like this. so ๐
I learned at a young age to keep my distance around big trucks on the highway, Thank God I lived to be 75 from good lesson's on the road.
๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
that was the exit before the town I grew up in Middletown, Ohio.
dam I seen something like that but the guy wasnt all there he was from one of those special living homes
May Christ be with them at this time.
Then repost it with the correct description . If that was my kid I would sue you so quick for posting his dead body on the ground. The message was great because your right they canโt stop on a dime and this man will live with taken a life forever by no fault of his own! Just repost without the writing
FREEWAYTANIC....
will they want be doing that anymore
so sad
this is sad. I see this all the time being a veteran truck driver, people cut us off, cut in front of us across 3 and 4 lanes of traffic to the exit ramp, brake check us, remember, we're rolling 55 m.p.h. with 80,000 lbs behind us. we can't stop on a dime. so just slow down. it's not worth your life
When I had just started driving in the 70's there was a guy who was drunk and arguing with his girlfriend , he ran in front of my truck at a traffic light they stood there and argued for 15 minutes before I got out of the truck and moved him out of the way. His girlfriend told me that he had threatened to do the same thing several times and every driver was as patiently waited
hopefully they didnt charge the semi driver for the car committing suicide.
Yes, it's kind of wrecks sadly happen. All the time because people do not take into consideration other driver's they just want to rush and drive a 100 mile an hour just to get somewhere when they're going to get there around the same time.During the speed limit and watching their driving and being safe!! Please be safe and prayers to this family that lost their lives ๐ ๐๐๐
