Have you ever heard of ship "ways" There are two parts to the ways, the lower ways which is affixed shoreside and the upper ways which sits atop the upper ways. The ship is built on the level surface of the upper ways. Once the ship is ready for launch, the ship and upper ways together are pushed downward at a 45° angle into the water in a side launched position and the top portion of the "ways" that is submerged during launch is retrieved via attached cables once the vessel is afloat. It's been the preferred method of initial launch around the world for centuries~ 😎

Boy, in places without proper dry docks or launches, sending these new ships into the water must be incredibly tense moments! Speaking of, I wonder if the North Koreans are going to invest in a proper one now. They’d save money!! 😆😆😆😆
