we respect our parents because it's the right thing to do.And that's what God wants us to do honor your mother and your father...

I was raised to my parents as well as all adults; and, at the age of 61, I still live my life that way. However, as an adult myself, I now also live by the belief that you have to give respect to get respect. Sadly, in our current generation, children and young adults don’t have respect for anyone——not even themselves; and because people are having children at a younger age, they are trying to be their children’s friend and be liked. Your kids have enough friends, they need an adult who don’t allow “lines” and “positions” to be “blurred” and “crossed”. 😒🤨😏

All ppl ( you, your parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, neighbors, cashier) all deserve a certain amount of respect until proven otherwise. But being respectful doesnt mean obedient or compliant, you can respectfully decline or disagree

I do believe that parents should raise children with morals and respect. I also know that parents were raised through trauma, that needs to be checked. Additionally, laying hands on the person that carried/created you is special on a new level. There are other ways for you to handle yourself. You are an adult, take responsibility for yourself. Everyone has to answer to someone.

I'm white and I was also raised on the belief Do as I say not as I do. Have respect for your parents and your elders. This is my house and my rules and when you turn 18, you can leave. This new generation have no respect for anyone and parents nowadays have lost what being a parent means. Parents are afraid of their kids and it's a crying shame!! My opinion, don't be disrespectful.

I may not respect your behavior, but I will not show you disrespect. What comes of out of younger people's mouth is way too much...Walk away if you can and if can't walk away now, prepare yourself to go and DO BETTER!

Just because you are around bad behavior doesn't mean you have to act that way.👍

I raised my kids to be respectful and kind. Then they go off to college and come back as a different person. No feelings but their own matter. I do not get where they changed or do I? Stop trying to retrain other parents children. Your beliefs should stay with your children not mine.
