Shame he has to totally blocked traffic because drivers are so inconsiderate. Way to solve the problem.

I think that is really smart. Anyone against it would have to have a real good reason. Traffic isn’t supposed to be moving in either direction while the bus is picking up or discharging students!🤔

I drove a school bus for 35 years. What that driver is doing is illegal. The job is to protect the children from those that don’t follow the law, but this action is illegal and dangerous.

Driver shouldn't even bother blocking both lanes because there are cameras on that bus, if you pass while the stop sign is up you get a beautiful bright flash from the camera, and a week or 2 later you get a beautiful big bill in the mail, you can't even pay it and must go to court......In my state of RI at least.

I don’t like that. I drive big truck and if my brakes gone and can’t stop so if that bus does like that truck will hit that bus. Not good idea.

👍All the bus drivers should stop and block both lanes, because unfortunately some people don't stop for the children on both sides.👍🙏 Love it!

I love that bus driver!! I used to take my babies to the 4-way bus stop and I swear to god cars wouldn’t stop and there were at least 15 kids from kdg to 5th grade… little babies!!! So I started to stand literally in the middle where no car can pass me every morning! I had people swear at me, try to run me over, throw things at me! As long as all those kids were safe I didn’t give a damn!!! I would guide them all to the bus! Then I got a cop to hide and wow we’re so many cars got tickets!

Unfortunately it’s an illegal move. The bus is now over the line and in the lane of oncomers. If anything happens, the bus is legally at fault be bing out if their lane. I was a bus driver and we are supposed to pull as far to the left of the lane as we can without going over the line. Same thing when dropping kids off on the right. Pull to the right without going over the line, stay out of the shoulder.

Being a school bus driverI can see why this looks like a great idea, but I also see how this creates other safety issues. For example if a car coming towards the bus head on doesn’t see the bus they will possibly swerve to the left and hit all kids at the stop. Also the bus is now more likely to get hit since it’s in 2 lanes which would make matters really bad for the ones loading and already on the bus. And no driver should make unapproved changes to laws and policies. I’m not saying that is the case tho..

When you see kids hit by a driver going around, it does something to you as a parent or family member. 🤔 Not good for the bad driver.

The person filming this video is way too close to the rear of this bus! You're closer than 20'. Stay back! What happens if someone not paying attention, rear ends you? Think about it! I do love this bus drivers way of protecting the precious passengers & getting them home safely!

It would be worse if a car on the other side plowed into the bus. It would be worse for the kids in the front/L of the bus including the driver AND the driver would be at fault for being over the double yellow line. The best way is to just follow the law and rules of the road.
