It blows my mind that WWII ended just 20 years before I was born. In school it was like the war was some ancient history to ignorantly roll my eyes about. Now I feel like 20 yrs is like last month. All my elders had gone through a horrific time that I was oblivious to. I did not know I was so privileged in my youth. Family, friends and neighbors mamed or killed with great frequency. This 💩 was goin on just 20 years earlier. 😱 and my kids and grands have no idea at all…. When’s our next vacation grandpa? Telling them now about war history is like telling them a spooky Halloween story. We’re so privileged.

I took my son's car to get an oil change a couple days ago, the appointment was at 9am. I dropped it off and went next door to Whataburger for breakfast.
