There is fraud against Medicaid, as there is against Medicare and private health insurers. Health care fraud is intentionally submitting false information in order to receive payment; for example, billing for services not furnished.

The largest Medicaid fraud case in US history involved a scheme orchestrated by Philip Esformes, a South Florida health care facility owner, who was convicted for his role in a scheme that defrauded Medicare and Medicaid of over $1.3 billion, according to the Department of Justice. The scheme involved submitting fraudulent claims for services that were never provided, were not medically necessary, or were obtained through kickbacks. The case was prosecuted by the Department of Justice and is considered the largest healthcare fraud case in terms of loss amount ever charged.

The waste, fraud and abuse is largely due the acts of Big Pharma and rich, greedy doctors and other rich medical professionals. Trump and his minions just rewarded them with generous tax cuts!

VA Workforce Reductions: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is on track to cut almost 30,000 jobs by the end of fiscal year 2025, primarily through attrition. While the VA maintains it won't impact care, critics worry this could worsen existing backlogs and wait times for veterans. VA Funding Shortfalls: The VA has faced reported budget shortfalls, which could impact the delivery of healthcare services and potentially lead to delays in processing claims and benefit reductions. In November 2024, the VA updated their fiscal year 2025 health care budget shortfall to $6.6 billion, down from an earlier estimate of $12 billion.

... these people are the same Janus-faced hypocrites when it comes to the border wall with Mexico! Long before Trump, they ALL supported financing that endeavor, culminating with Obama building the cages and deporting sooo many WITHOUT ANY DUE PROCESS that he was dubbed the "DEPORTER-IN-CHIEF" and everyone cheered. So tell me, what EXACTLY is Trump doing that's ANY different?!? Oh, I'll tell you what he's doing differently - he's giving a stipend to those who self-deport with the chance to try again legally! We know these people want a better life and if our government had been doing a better job overseeing the billions, maybe trillions given in financial aid to make sure the money was indeed improving their condition instead of lining pockets, we would NOT be in the position we are in today. Politicians who oppose DOGE and the removal of illegals should themselves be removed from Congress, assets frozen, and charged with treason!!

During the unwinding of the continuous enrollment provision in Medicaid, it's estimated that millions of people, including children, have been disenrolled. Specifically, nearly 500,000 children and families were initially wrongly disenrolled due to a systems issue, but their coverage is being reinstated. Additionally, in 15 states, 1.1 million children have lost Medicaid coverage out of 2.7 million beneficiaries overall. The total number of Medicaid enrollees disenrolled during the unwinding is at least 25,198,000, according to KFF.

According to recent information from organizations like the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) and Propel, upcoming changes to SNAP may impact veterans. The Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 had initially exempted veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and young adults exiting foster care from SNAP's work requirements. However, the 2025 law no longer includes these exemptions. This means that these groups may now be subject to the work requirements to receive SNAP benefits.

Blocking Debate on a Medicare Bill (2008): Senate Republicans successfully blocked an attempt by Democrats to bring a Medicare bill up for debate. Failed ACA Repeal (2017): Republicans attempted to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which included efforts to roll back its Medicaid expansion, but the bill narrowly failed in the Senate.

In healthcare fraud, providers commit more fraud than individual beneficiaries. While both groups engage in fraudulent activities, providers have more opportunities and resources to exploit the system.
