Muslim women wear a burka because their religion forbids them to show their bodies in public. Maybe you should have explained, gently, to your 2 year old that it's not a costume but a custom! I went shopping at Walmart, and the cashier was dressed in black, covered head to toe!!! What irritates me is that there’s no common courtesy, like, "Hey, have a nice day, thank you for shopping here." None of that; it’s cold, and they're just doing the motions of a checkout. I hate when this person is working. I’ve started to shop in other places for this reason. You can hide a machine gun under one of those costumes. We are living in strange times.

I’m Christian and my daughter is Muslim. She chooses to wear her hijab because it is a personal choice. No one is forcing her to. She feels more secure in it. But I can understand the fear when it comes to seeing a woman wearing a burka. I used to think the same way till I had open conversation’s with The women to find out their side of view. Some reasons they wear them for religious piety and modesty, cultural identity, and protection. Instead of fearing them, try to do some research and empathize more. And realize we all have our own preferences with how we live our OWN lives.
