It's harder than it looks. I was taller and had longer legs and it still took me a minute to mount up. Once in a great while, I'd get it on the first try and feel like a million dollars or I just won a lottery or something grand. Never forget either, either 🤷♀️Haven't ridden in almost 30 years now, tho. I still love watching them! Especially running free on a beach.....

horses are absolutely awesome, they pick up issues and 💥 we have a blessed unicorn 🙏from God.
I'll explain. This horse was trained to allow ppl. to mount while he was on the ground. She tried repeatedly to jump up on him from the right side. She cued him to lay down & then she ran around to the correct side to mount. Im only 5' & used to have a Tn Walking horse who was 16'3 hands so unless I had a mounting block, a fence it was an issue at times. Luckily all kinds of ppl board their horses & don't mind helping each other with little things. There was an old wrangler who taught my horse & I both that little trick of having him lay down so I could climb on. It works great, so long as ppl who are over 200 lbs don't ask this of their horse . Sometimes ppl think horses are capable of feats of strength that is really not fair or right to ask of them. So many of them will try over and over even after they've actually hurt themselves & a horse can't tell you it's got ruptured spinal discs & is in incredible pain. So plz, love them. Don't ask for more than you really need.
