I guess they missed out on science class. What feeds a fire? Fuel and oxygen. Close the lid! turn off the propane! The fire will put itself out! That’s a grease fire. The grill is obviously dirty. Don’t throw water on a grease fire. That’s how it’ll explode and spread.
