gypsy moth catapillars. They can do a lot of damage. Spray them with BT known as bacillus thuringiensis, a bacteria that interrupts their digestion . It's pretty innocuous and commonly used.

Those will kill a tree in no time. I worked in pest control for years, and the best way I told the customer they could get rid of them was to cut the limb off and burn them. Doesn't take them long to kill a good tree.
