I always had an M14 for Sharkwatch. You are no supposed to shoot the shark unless its the only option because it adds blood to the commotion and draws more. The idea is to shoot in front of the shark to run it off.

I did several SAR missions in Hawaii throwing life rafts out of planes for people but never had to do this. The only time I had to jump off anything into the water was boot camp.

stolen video. that shark video is from the navy service people swimming of the ship and the centuries watching and shooting at the sharks. thief

That what happened when we were at anchor off one of the islands in Micronesia for a rare swim call. A small bonka boat came near and told us we had dropped anchor right in the middle of a sharks breeding grounds. Never saw so many Sailors and Marines scramble to get out of the water at the same time.😆

1972, Orlando RTC, we had the drill at the pool on the 10M board. We had to jump with a Mae West. I did a full Gainer. Needless to say I got pushups forever.

Why do you want to know?
Buffalo, NY · 20 days ago

Sometimes Sailors will get the opportunity to take a swim in the ocean and Sharks Sometimes will appear. Thats why they have small patrol boats making sure if sharks come too close, they scare them off 💕

Evan a .50 cal bullet wouldn’t make it anything over a foot through water. Facts. Hope he’s floating on the surface if he’s is attacked, God forbid.

wouldn't shooting the sharks create blood in the water that would only bring more sharks🤔 and if some of you people say he's shooting around the sharks.. DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT..😆..

THIS MUST BE THE NEW NAVY!! That's something we never had to do when i was in. Now what about the men and women on board who can't swim. There's no seal trainers wading around in the water to assist you when fellow ship mate goes under water. Surely, they won't be waiting on sharks either.

No one will be manning a 50cal if the ship is sinking. It'll be every man for himself instead.
