Make sure the ground is level, the water level was 3 inches lower on one side on my pool, so I learned the hard way and had to drain the pool and resurface the ground, it's recommended to use white sand and put down about 2 inches of soft sand and this will make the bottom soft on your feet, it feels amazing I must say, a dude at home Depot told me this. Grass can become dangerous to pools to where it can end up growing through the bottom of your pool, those tarps will help, but grass is very invasive, and can still grow through those tarps. I did what you did, nothing fancy, and I'm still good so fingers crossed but evidently your supposed to use a special mat that prevents all weeds from growing into the pool liner, which I never did because who had that kinda $$$. Not me😁😁
