Through this Cu Chi tunnel, the North Vietnamese communists entered the South and started killing and executing. Over the years, they killed more than 2 million innocent people, including women and children. The tunnel was also a route through which the North Vietnamese killed over 50,000 Americans, including my Dad. Dad was a great father, a hero to us and to America. They captured him and killed him in a horrific way—overkilling him. Life was horrible and devastated without Dad. He was a kind man, the nicest Dad in the world. Dad was killed in 1968. The communists then went to the city of Hue and buried hundreds alive, mostly students and school’ teachers. My mom never recovered. Mom passed away two years ago at 97. Dad was only 40 when he was killed in the Vietnam War. The Vietnamese communists captured and killed him horrifically, along with over 50,000 young American lives. Please don't forget 🙏🏼. Never forget this 🙏🏼. Please 🙏🏼, never forget 😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Don't forget, please,

It’s a shame that the Vietnam vets are forgotten. I grew up as a child watching that war on TV. The US troops kicked ass when they were allowed to! He lies a problem. They had to fight the war with one hand tied behind their back. What a shame. But let me tell you when the shit hits the fan I would rather have them on my side. They were fierce warriors and never got the recognition. They deserved! To fight a war for 10 years and get spit on he’s unbelievable. I would like to thank the soldiers who fought in that war for their service! Some of the bravest men our country has ever had.

That is one of the Cuchi Tunnels in Vietnam. Was there just last year. They allow you to go through quite a ways. At times you must squat or low crawl to get through. These are just small samples of what the tunnels were like. And yes, some of our smallest framed soldiers use to go into these tunnels to flush out the VCs. Dangerous as hell, but they did it valiantly!

my dad was a Vietnam vet. I hated history growing up and never took the time to look into what the Vietnam war was all about. When my dad passed away, my aunt (his sis) told me with tears falling from her eyes how they didn't get any recognition when returning home. How they were boo'd and spit on and told they had no business fighting that war. I felt horrible hearing that. Especially at the mortuary where we were discussing my dad's burial arrangements. He was cremated and put inside the wall at THE RIVERSIDE CA MEMORIAL CEMETERY. DADDY I LOVE AND MISS YOU VERY MUCH IM VERY PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!! IT MAKES ME VERY VERY PROUD TO TELL PEOPLE THAT MY DAD WAS IN THE VIETNAM WAR. HES A NAVY VETERAN. I LOVE U DAD!! IN LOVING MEMORY OF STEPHEN MICHAEL MCGONIGLE MAY 7 1952- MARCH 2019

my uncle was in Vietnam they shot his helicopter down him and his pilot lived but! the way they survived was wild! my uncle was only 5"4 so he hid in these tunnels after clearing them of the enemy. he would use his pistol to take out enemies . as his pilot would radio him to let him know when one was approaching.

jeez take off your blinders what's wrong with some of you people, Its really sad to read so many of yall's comments so full of hate and anger pointing fingers .Whatever Damage was done quit crying about it, its done.Instead of passing that hate around this country and trying to throw everyone to the point of segregation all over again you should learn to get Everyone together and fix it . Nothing good is gonna come out of what's going on around the world today..How sad!!

They cut it short because she couldn't get out! There's a big difference between going in and then exiting the same way! An animal can squeeze their head between a fence and most likely can not escape! Check out the logic of science and the science of logic...

I agree. I'd like to tell every Vietnam vet that you're all heroes. it was a forgotten war and nobody wanted to be there and really legally. we were there but we shouldn't have been. we lost 50,000 over $50,000 men and women. that's appalling. well you're all heroes in my book and thank you for your service and I'm sorry you didn't get the welcome home you deserve, but I'm here to tell you welcome home even though it's late

to me, this would be one of the most frightening jobs to have. to be a tunnel rat. any person that had the courage to go down into those tunnels and manage to come out the winner( if you can call it that)is a hero in my book. Thank you for your service💕

58,000 US soldiers died in the Vietnam war. The US was fighting against communism. Now people visit Vietnam as a tourist attraction. It's still a communist country. 3 million south Vietnamese, 310,000 Cambodians, 62,000 Laotians died fighting or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not spending my tourist dollars there.

My daughter had a lead role in a play in college "Letters From Vietnam." She was a nurse that begged to go over there. The Play was based on the book "Letters from Vietnam," which was based on the letters soldiers and others wrote home during the war. It was so moving. She wore my dog-tags. (I am not old enough to have been to Vietnam though.) If you ever have the chance to see it or even get the book. They did show how poorly the Vets were treated when they came home. My daughter's part was told by her friend to go change out of her uniform when she was met at the airport. I never understood why they were treated so badly when they came back.
