the 14year old wanted to fight the officer so ,yes the officer was in the right .A lot of kids think they can do anything with out being held responsible.
All he had to do was comply. That "child" was the same size as the officer and age does not give you a free pass. Jails and Graves are full of criminals who began these poor choices as juveniles! I hate to see it but do understand it.

That officer was totally out of line. How do you think Police are going to gain the respect of the youth by using violence. A police officer is supposed to handle situations involving minors without escalation.

That Youth was awful and that officer did the right thing. Thank goodness the second officer got there to help. It's a shame that that young man thought he could use that kind of language, smart off to the officer in the first place and seeing what others wrote on here defending the boy we wonder why young kids feel they can do the things they do. If they stopped then when they were younger maybe it wouldn't have escalated into this.

When a rebellious individual thinks he/she is entitled.
Obviously, he was a suspect for something???? Had he complied, he would have been cuffed in detainment. Then, he would have been arrested or released!!!! That's how our system works so you can comply or fight! That choice is yours to make whatever your age is! Now, even if he wasn't a suspect, he will be charged with resisting (minimally) and went to jail simply because of that if nothing else!!!!
