They must be supervised and taught consequences for poor behavior. But until you become an adult and lead properly, there cannot be said consequences. Why are markers and crayons at child level with no adults around? Why do you have all white furniture with no one watching the children? teaching and training starts at home. Do better

I think mom handled this quite well. To those saying mom should have been watching better, she may have been preparing dinner. You can't watch them every second - and if you are honest, you know that. Quit being so judgemental.

You better qualify that response with "coloring" book, not "any" book.

now you should have him help clean it so he learns that that's what you do.

This happened to my daughter when she was 2 1/2 . She got a hold of a piece of crayon that didn’t make it to the crayon box during cleanup. (She drew on the walls) She did receive time out but she also watched me throw out all her crayons and didn’t get any for a long time . She would ask for them but I would remind her what she did and that “no crayons” were the consequences.

I was taking care of these two 1 1/2 year olds. I left them in the living room for a couple minutes to get something from the kitchen. when I came back, they had climbed onto their mom's brand new couch with the beautiful countryside with a white background upholstery and sprayed their baby bottles one filled with grape juice, one with milk all over the new upholstery. I considered my options: The three of us could flee to Mexico. Then I started cleaning the couch. To my surprise, it all came right off! It turned out their smart mommy had sprayed the couch with Scotchgard.

For CONTENT your child colors all over the table and you film it and with zero upset tone is told he gets a short time out and zero consequences. He tells her he colored on the table and she seems amused!!! What the hell is wrong with parenting? Everything is for content. The little soon to be brat/delinquent points at each item proudly. I would have flipped out. Well it wouldn’t have happened because the kid had to be unsupervised for a good amount of time. Good luck with “Christian” we will read about him one day and it won’t be about his Harvard Graduation.“Christian what happened?” Mommy I pewpewed him and him and him and I she is wounded. “Oh I didn’t even see that she is hurt. Are you sorry?” Yes mama. “Don’t worry we will get you off. Mommy loves you”SMH

Those are just "things" which can be replaced. I think the child was wanting attention. So scold him or punish him, but love on him as much as you can. They grow up so fast.

with that sweet little face of his not sure if I was mom I could punish him I know he needs to learn but that face just looks so innocent and he looked so proud he just wanted to help that white furniture have some color

It’s mother’s fault. Believe me when I say, I never took my eyes off of my kids for more than a minute or two. What this kid did took longer than that.

Kids have a way of getting into things. when my son was a toddler, with his toddler friend sleeping over, they woke up before I did. And they were so quiet. Got out of bed hearing crunch crunch as I walked into the hall, more crunch crunch. Looked down only to realize they had quietly emptied a whole box of rice crispies all over from kitchen down hallway until they ran out of cereal!😲 Didn't know whether to laugh or cry or yell or what!

I don’t think he’s sorry or understands not to do it again. He was very proud of his drawings. I would confiscate all crayons and markers to be used under supervision only. My 3 year old twins did this to their bedroom walls mixed with their poop. We cleaned then painted.

They’re definitely should’ve been a little more reprimanding in that conversation! I know he’s young, but he’s not young enough to know and be told with a strong voice that you will never do this again. This is just crazy these parents. This is why youth grow up to be the way they are.
