It's sad, I see a lot of newcomers that charge professional prices for shoddy work There's still those who learned from their dad, their uncle, or grandfather, but a lot of them today watch an amateur filming himself doing a job for the 1st time himself on U-Tube & think that they know enough to charge like a pro. That's where I came in to come behind them& fix the problems they created. It's usually older people that don't know prices for work & trust they know what they are doing. I'm 67 doing construction work since I was 16, done about everything on a house. I'm disabled now but still help friends & family with things that others screwed up. I tell them I start out slow & get slower as I go throughout the day. I'll make a little. A lot of times, I'll break even just to help out. America has a shortage of true craftsmen.
Hey maga… that’s how it should look when a guy steps in a knows what he’s doing. Just saying. He didn’t knock down the whole thing blame someone else and bring in someone less qualified then take credit it for it.
n0w thats a master mason!!
THIS is what's missing in society today. The handing down of trades VOLUNTARILY. MANY things simply CAN NOT be learned in schools. ON THE JOB TRAINING, HAS TO, go along with an education, or the education is WASTED !!!
There’s nothing better than older people who have a wonderful attitude and trade we could learn from these masters like you to have a good neighbor like that🥰
My dad was a brick layer in his time he started at the age of about 16 in old Mexico but learned the trade and all his life until he retired that’s all he ever did . It’s good money but very hard work in all types of weather ..!! He would help out the family in some projects and taught some of my cousins the trade . He could break a brick in any size , shape that he wanted with one blow !! It’s Wa so cool too watch that .
so he flips a trowel
He was just helping YOU acquire an education, teaching you how to do YOUR job...
them old heads be knowing it all🫡💯
New guys used to like to spin their hammers like six shooters. They got fired. Too many standing around spinning hammers.
Exactly. After an earthquake in SoCal our living room lath and plaster wall had a 20’ long crack diagonally from floor to ceiling. There aren’t many skilled workers left that can fix this problem. We get this guy who comes over to give an estimate. He was like 80 years old, nice white beard, kinda small in stature, could have played grandpa on a black comedy show. Nicest guy. He then came to do the work and brought his great grandson with him. They patched the crack that you needed a before and after picture to see where it had been. Job was done well for a good price. But it was nice to see the skills being passed to a new generation.
Old school knowledge. Earned, can't buy it.
Pops can Cook 👍🥰
Huckleberry Finn
That's knowledge 💯
you are a good looking woman, must have a good man 👍
That was wow so human if him. love it. show me more full my heart.
This is exactly how we had a professional mason come along when we had a carpenter trying to enlarge our window on our brick house. Saw him struggling and botching the job. He just couldn’t stand watching. We hired him on the spot to do the brick work. He did a beautiful job.
The way he fips/ twirls the trowel and the confidence he exhibits is taking over the job SCREAMS that this ain't his first rodeo!!! 🤣🤣🤣😎
Actually, you just watched somebody who is not a professional the brick did not have the appropriate amount of mortar before it was set
he ain't new to this he's true to this
Of course old school comes around and showed them how to do it without hesitation!!
I think that was awesome. A more experienced and wiser man just made that young new worker's day, and he will always remember the knowledge he was taught that day. 😆
👍
US OLD TIMERS KNOW HOW ITS DONE,,,,,,,,,,PAY ATTENTION
that's a brick layer there .
Reminds me of my dad. He would've done this too. Friendly guy.
Nice work.
layed so much brick and block wore off 2 finger prints
I like when he said, "oih". 😆
Impressive!
looks terrible still
Oye masonbouy
.
Just reliving the glory days.
if he's a good to fix brick with a cement!? 😆😆😆
American Hero right there❣️👏🏼👏🏼
he's got skill
It’s ashamed that this younger generation thinks they’ve been there and done Everything 😂😂😂🥴
Let the pro show you!
That’s an old OG MASON , not too many of em around anymore 💪🏻🫡🫡🫡
Get neighbor to help out!
Wow imagine Moses coming back from the great beyond for a career in bricklaying 😊
Pay attention young man. You’re about to get a great schooling.
old timer was a good mason
Ol school said that he is going to show you whipper snappers how it's done! 🤣 Looks like he definitely knows what he's doing. Good way to get a job... just walk up and start getRdone!
It happens that way when you have worked a lot of trades in your life!
the one benefit to bricklaying is you can drive by and see a lasting accomplishment. otherwise, it's just repetative piece work
Showing him how it's done .👍
yeah so what anybody can spend a trial I don't see you doing any brakes with the brickster cuts with the bricks or anything like that all I see you doing is spinning a trial that's easy to do
👉 and mud lol
that man's probably retired. You can tell he loves what he does or use to do💯💯💯
