Why don't you do what most people do when locks are frozen. They buy a can of de- icer for locks to thaw them out.

if the locks were all frozen, how did the letter carrier open them to get the mail in them? Obviously, they must carry a de-icer with them to open the boxes, so this guy should get some of that , too. It's a lot safer than throwing water and causing a big frozen area right in front of the boxes. Just saying...

Use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to spray only your lock. It is a great de-icer. His way, made everybody's lock refreeze with a layer of frozen ice on the ground. I hope nobody falls tragically. Some people cause even worse conditions that are extremely hazardous, out of stupidity. At least he got his mail though, so his goal was accomplished 😆😆😆😆. 🌸

you could buy a lil hand held tube of " DE-ICER" spray in your mailbox lock like you would to open your frozen car door lock..duh🙄😏
Or use a lighter to heat up your key. Water will make people slip . And no we didn’t do that for the mail but we did for the cars

I always use regular Alcohol in a spray bottle, it works great.

WD40!!! Or another lock drying agent! They make an "injector pen" type product just for this issue!! You just made it harder for everybody else to get their mailbox open!!!

I made this mistake my first year in northern Iowa! threw buckets of hot water under my car that was stuck in my driveway... then my boss told me good luck now cuz hot water freezes faster than cold water 🤔 She was right! I didn't make it to work that day😆

there's a product that has a nozzle, and you can spray it in any lock to unfreeze it, and I believe WD-40 works to just FYI
