Me and my siblings were disciplined with a belt , switches and hands. Never hurt us and we grew up respectful. Also learned if we wanted something then we had to work for it. The most precious thing I child has is time. Time out worked wonders in our house. I was hit by my parents. It didn't stop my rebellious side. It did teach me how to hate them for humiliating me. All 4 of our kids were nevers struck. We never had problems with discipline. They grew up with respect and love and care. All 4 College Graduates, all Professional, all happy. Me, I finished a Military career, a career in Nursing, and have earned a PhD in 17th Century English Literature, in SPITE of my Father telling me I'd amount to nothing. He died in prison. Strike a child and all your doing is teaching them it's OK for big people to hit little people. But, hey, you want to raise kids with self-esteem issues, to be bullies, go ahead. They're your kids.

In my household when I was younger it was old school. But you know what none of us are criminals? So sometimes I think you need to correct a child. I'm not saying beat him up. There's a differethe front and somebody said that they didn't. Get reported you're right, but nowadays kids are just telling their parents. You can't touch me and they're doing whatever they want.
