This country would have never established the wealth it did early in its infancy if there was not slavery. unfortunately. It's true this country was built and successful because of slave labor , then after slavery the exploitation of immigrants labor . The railways and cities were all built by those who least benefit from it's development

I've worked construction for fifty years. I've seen maybe 3 black workers. Just saying.
Irish and Italians built the buildings and the roads, subway, and every other major development of this country. The Chinese did however become slave labor to build railroads and most of California. The blacks after slavery were paid little to nothing by the southern Democrats to continue working the fields. The major cities of this country on the east coast anyway we're built maintained by whites. That's not to say there weren't a few people of color but not many. Unions wouldn't let them join

I don't know what country you live in but I grew up in America in an industrial town and everybody's Dad worked in the factories and did manual labor at every kind of meager job... They were every color/race, white, black, brown...
Construction was a white mans job, when I was a kid. My father, who didn’t present as black, worked along side them. Then Corporations, decided they needed more of the profits. So they started hiring illegals. Then to get around verification laws, they made ALL workers subcontractors. Now they didn’t need to verify citizenship status. They also allowed. Illegals to run down the price, most others couldn’t do the work anymore. Who’s to blame? Capitalism! It worked exactly as intended. Sadly the illegals are paying for our greedy sins. Do better. Let them stay. Be mad at American companies

When I grew up in Texas in the 70's, the majority of lawn service and construction jobs were all black. The black owners of those businesses started hiring Mexican workers from the late 70's to the early 80's. They did so because black families were pushing college and wanted to integrate with the enemy, then they never came back to those jobs.

In the olden days nobody cared where migrant workers were from. There was none of this work visa nonsense. Farmers ran their own labor camps, usually tarpaper shacks with central kitchen/bathroom.
