Good explanation, but only 1-sided. All countries charge us huge tarrifs for US goods going into their counties and have been getting away with that for decades. Tarrifs are leveling the playing fields. The goal is to get those countries to lower their tarrifs so US companies make more money instead of it going to the foreign tarrifs.
tariffs don't work .. companies won't build here in the USA because then $5 shirt would cost $20 because Americans are too lazy to keep up with demand .. they want to show up late and leave early and not show up with lame excuses ..

Already working and tariffs been getting done but ours have been extremely low compared to Canada and China so he's increased it plus we pay the most in NATO has well. Really crappy neighbors like Canada need to be fair and really we don't need anything from either one

It would cost more to build and employee here in America. That shirt that was 5$ up to 7$, would have to now cost 40$ . if not more ..cost to build , move company , and employ at much higher wages . The customer just pays the cost of the Tarriffs from the price increase . which boost profit , which costs stocks ..which lines the pockets of those envolved. So the rich get richer .
1. They print money in bulk and indoctrinate you to believe it's valuable 2. they've also managed to indoctrinate you to be only consumers to be more dependent on outside sources of manufacturing.
the entire point behind the tariffs is to force all the companies that make products outside of the US for dirt cheap. to start making their products in the US so that the US becomes an leader in exportation and production. giving America more jobs better pay and in the long game paying off our ridiculous national debt that we currently owe.
the fact is that these companies are still making the same amount of money and can't afford to relocate to the US to go back and still have to sell their shirt for 5 dollars since the labor cost would go from 1 dollar a shirt to 2.50 a shirt, not to mention the other increases in overhead vso now your 5 dollar shirt is 10 dollars.

that's why a law needs passed that says no company is allowed to raise prices to cover the tariffs. tariffs must co.e from the companies profits.
that's a severe over simplification of tarrifs. you completely skipped the part where manufacturers move massive operations into the US to avoid tarrifs, which in turn creates more jobs for Americans, which in turn boosts the economy as a whole and then payroll goes up to keep up with demand. and that's just another small part of it . and look, I didn't need toys to explain it
