what ever happened to a family being able to ask for a 51/50? i have a niece who recently stayed with me for a short time and she was screaming about killing herself to which i said if you don't mean it, don't say it because I have to take it seriously. we have a lot of addiction issues and super depression issues which of course kind of go hand in hand. I'm currently getting my psychology degree mainly because of these things I had to end up calling the police to try to get some help for her and instead she lied to them. they came down and told me as if I'm the aggressor, I need to leave her alone, give her her space and not bother her that all she wants is to be left alone and I said yes that is the problem but I was the one chastised for basically wasting their time when she desperately needed some help. she was in the middle of an extreme meltdown. she has a lot of mental issues. mind you, I live in a town where we have 24-hour mental crisis walk-in.😆

I agree, my adult daughter recently tried to kill herself and I begged her to go to a hospital, she backed out at the last minute. if I had my way I'd force her to stay, she's been needing help the last several years but is so introverted she is afraid of talking to people. add she just got out of an abusive relationship and it hasn't been a good outcome.
