It puts money in the pockets of the men and women who work on those platforms out there. They take that money and turn around and spend it on hopefully soon all American made products stimulating our economy. Also it decreases our dependency on foreign oil thus making fuel prices go down from not having to buy it at inflated prices from other countries. Those savings from that alone keeps more money in your pocket.
