We were at a Bible study when the police showed up. A 4 year-old had called 911. His parents had taught them to call it in case of emergency. His mother was epileptic. In case he was home alone with her and she had a grand mal seizure. The officer told Thomas to listen to his parents about when to call. As the little guy looked up at the over 6' tall officer her got so scared he wet his pants. He never did that again in the 5 years I knew them. (My niece got a phone when she was 9. It was because she and her husband were in the middle of a divorce. He had their daughter for Christmas Eve day but was supposed to bring her home by 6:00pm for a family dinner. By 7:00pm he hadn't showed up and wouldn't answer his phone. I suggested she call the American Legion since drinks were half price that night. She called and they were there. Their daughter was in the kids' play room. I drove her down to get her daughter.
That poor child, I can't stand hearing the pain and fear in her voice. She will never forget being taunted by authority figures. Remember this day, it's coming up again.

Everybody who is saying mom is wrong is a part of the problem. She had to learn that calling 911 is actually a crime. Just like pulling a fire alarm and there is no fire. We all know that the police isn’t going to take the child to jail. I don’t blame this parent. You can tell the child already knows how to manipulate situations to save herself, maybe this will teach her a lesson at an early age. Kudos to mom and the officer for doing a great job. You have to train children up when they are young. Stop judging this mother!
